The Power of a Praying Wife

 

Wives...Pray for your Husband

 

 

Day 1

"That he might become a holy man, a man of prayer, mature in the Lord,

growing in his knowledge of the Lord."

Relating scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-23, Colossians 4:12, Ephesians 1:18-19, 3:16-19, 6:18

1 Thessalonians 5:16-23: Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything, give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the spirit.  Despise not prophesyings.  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.  Abstain from all appearance of evil.  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless into the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.Pray for your husband, that he will be joyful, give thanks in all circumstances, and pray continuously.  This is God's will in your life.  Pray that his spirit stays thirsty for the word of God, and that he will not turn against the prophesies.  Pray that your husband will test the truth in everything, and hold onto only that which is found good, and that he may not surround himself with any element of evil.  Pray that God's peace will sanctify him through and through, and that his spirit and soul and body will be found blameless in the presence of Jesus.

 

Colossians 4:12: Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ, sends greetings, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.Pray that your husband knows that Christ's servants are always lifting him up in prayer so that the will of God will be manifested through his life and he may stand mature and assured of his salvation.

 

Ephesians 1:18-19, 3:16-19, 6:18: I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength.  |  I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  |  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.Pray for your husband to be enlightened in his heart of the things for which God has planned in his life, and that he may have faith that the Lord will bless believers as a work of His mighty power.  Pray that your husband be strong in the Spirit so that Christ may live in his heart and that he will have an understanding of Christ's love for him enough to know that he will be filled with the Holy Ghost.  Pray that he will seek his Heavenly Father through prayer so that he will always be alert, and that he will also pray for all other men as well.

 

Day 2 

That he might grow in all 11 descriptions of a man who will not be shaken

as listed in Psalms 15.

Psalms 15: Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your Holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usary and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.  He who does these things will never be shaken.

Pray for your husband that he be blameless and practice those things that are righteous. Pray that he will be truthful and offer commendation and flattery instead of slander and backbiting. Pray that he loves others as he loves himself, and that he will not insult his fellow man. Pray that he does not yolk himself with non-believers, and that he detests vile, sinful, vulgar men and women but that he will value those that are God-fearing. Pray that your husband will keep his promises even through difficulty. Pray for him that he will not place importance on material possessions, and that he will help others to the best of his ability.

 

Day 3 

That he might be a man of contentment

as seen in Proverbs 15:16, Phil 4:11, 1 Timothy 6:6-8, Hebrews 13:5.

Proverbs 15:16: Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.

Pray that your husband values more his relationship and faith in the Lord than any worldly possession, for it is always better to have strong faith and little material gain than to have great worldly riches and no fear of the Lord.

 

Philippians 4:11-13: I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.Pray that your husband learns to be satisfied and happy no matter what his situation may be, knowing that the Lord will always provide for his needs and from God's grace, pray that he will know that anything is possible.

 

1 Timothy 6:6-8: But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

Hebrews 13:5: Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Pray that your husband will have the understanding that God will never leave or forsake him, and that his happiness is rooted in his faith, rather than in his money.

 

Day 4

That he might learn to take every thought captive,

to not be conformed to the world's thinking and to think scripturally.

Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 10:5

Romans 12:2: Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test an approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Pray for your husband, that he allows himself to be molded into God's perception instead of mans, and that he always remembers that he was created in the image of God. Pray that he finds his own destiny that the Lord has paved for him, and that he seeks to fulfill the Lord's will in his life.

 

Corinthians 10:3-5: They all ate the same spiritual food, and they all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered over the desert.

Pray for your husband to not accept the actions of other seemingly righteous men, and that he knows what the Lord expects from him by studying the Word, and living by its laws rather than by man's expectations.

 

Day 5

That he might daily seek God with all his heart,

walking in the Spirit moment by moment, growing in his dependence on Him.

Psalms 119:1-2, Proverbs 3:5-6

Psalms 119:1-2: Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.

Pray that your husband will live his life in the way that God intended, always keeping in mind the laws written by the Lord as outlined in the Bible and working to always live up to those statutes, wanting to please Him in everything that he does.

 

Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Pray that your husband will trust God rather than his own judgments and conclusions, and that he will always consciously include the Lord in everything that he does so that his path will be a righteous one.

 

Day 6

That he would ever be captivated by my love.

Proverbs 5:18-19

Proverbs 5:18-23: May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful dear- may her breasts satisfy you always, my you ever be captivated by her love. Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another man's wife? For a man's ways are in full view of the Lord, and he exmaines all his paths. The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.

Pray that your husband may always hold true to his vows. Pray that he may find delight in your company for as long as you live, and that he may never commit the sin of adultery, physically or in lust. Pray that your husband knows the Lord is an all-seeing and all-knowing God and that our actions are always in His sight. Pray that your husband never be led astray from his commitment to you.

 

Day 7

That he would be a man of courage.

Deuteronomy 31:6, 2 Chronicles 19:11

Deuteronomy 31:6: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Pray that your husband be strong in faith and fear nothing but the Lord. Pray also that he may be courageous in spirit, knowing that God will always be at battle with him.

 

2 Chronicles 19:11: Amariah the chief priest will be over you in any matter concerning the Lord, and Zebadiah son of Ishmael, the leader of the tribe of Judah, will be over you in any matter concerning the king, and the Levites will serve as officials before you. Act with courage, and may the Lord be with those who do well.

Pray that your husband will know his leaders, and will follow only those strong in faith who fear the Lord. Pray that your husband will act with bravery in his spiritual battles and that his understanding will be that the Lord will be with him so that he may always prevail.

 

Day 8

That the Lord might give him wisdom to lead his family physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Ephesians 1:17-19

Ephesians 1:17-19: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints; and what [is] exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power

Pray that your husband may be shown the Lord's calling in his life... his purpose... his destiny. Pray that he may know what his spiritual inheritance is; what the Lord has had in store for him, and that your husband may realize how wonderful the Lord is to His children that believe and have faith in Him.

 

Day 9

May he always look at the plank in his own eye before seeing other's sawdust.

Matthew 7:3

Matthew 7:3-5: Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your bother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Pray that your husband may notice his faults and look to God for a change in his own life before finding fault in others. Pray that he may be a humble man and that he lives with humility, that he may allow the Lord to work on him. Pray also for your husband that he may find his own salvation, then be a tool for the Lord to work through him in ministering to his brothers in Christ. Pray for understanding for your husband, that he knows only through Christ will he be righteous and only through the blood of Jesus will he be forgiven. Once the Lord has broken and built him, pray that your husband will have a desire to testify, that he may make a difference in the lives of others, but only in the will of God.

 

Day 10

That he might become a called man, not driven,

with well thought through and prayed through goals in life.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

1 Corinthians 9:24-27: Do you not know that in a race, all the runners run but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Pray that your husband may recognize his purpose as set forth by God, and that he does not allow himself to get trapped in worldly incentives, but that he will go into training spiritually so that he may come out a winner in the ultimate competition... Pray that your husband will set goals for himself that will allow him to develop a closer relationship with his Heavenly Father, and that he will always pay close attention to his calling.

 

Day 11

That he might be a man of prayer, guarding his heart and mind,

putting into practice what he has heard, seen and learned.

Phil 4:4-9

Philippians 4:4-9: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me- put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Pray that your husband will always find joy in the peace and love that God covers him with. Also, pray for your husband that he may understand God's unconditional love, and that it may guard his heart in Christ. Lift your husband up in prayer that he may think about those things that are of the Lord- His peace, truth, purity, righteousness, nobility, admiration, excellence, and that which is worthy of praise. Pray that your husband will take heed the things that he has learned through his relationship with Christ and that he will practice those things throughout his life so that God's peace may be with him; pray for him that he may never be anxious, but always confident in his requests to the Lord so that he always gives thanks for those things that have been, that are, and that are to come.

 

Day 12

That he might stand firm against the schemes of the devil and resist Satan in all circumstances.

Ephesians 6:10-18, James 4:7

Ephesians 6:10-18: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

 

James 4:7: Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Pray for your husband to be strong in faith and full of truth so that he may stand his ground against the evil in this world, and that he may be ready to face any circumstance with peace, confident in his salvation. Pray that your husband may always remember to pray for his brothers and sisters in Christ, and to trust the Lord to help him in his struggles. Pray also that he will submit to the Lord's will in his life, and that even through adversity, he stands firm in Christ so that Satan will have no hold on him.

 

Day 13

That he might grow in spiritual maturity by putting away childish things, cultivating, understanding, striving after the Christ ideal, partaking of the deeper truths of the gospel, and overcoming temptation.

1 Corinthians 13:11, 14:20, Ephesians 4:13, Hebrews 5:14, 1 John 2:14

1 Corinthians 13:11, 14:20: When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil, be infants, but in your thinking, be adults.

Pray for your husband, that he may look to the Lord for guidance now that his childhood has past and his adult responsibilities are relevant. Ask that through his knowledge and spiritual training that he finds maturity but is able to regard himself in evil as an infant that is pure and innocent.

 

Ephesians 4:13: It was he who gave some ... to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up] until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Hebrews 5:13-14: Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

1 John 2:14: I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

Pray that your husband is strong enough to overcome the temptation of worldly pleasures so that he may be one in union with those who compose themselves with the complete measure of Christ.

 

Day 14

That he might make me holy, cleansing me by the washing with water through the word.

Ephesians 5:26

Ephesians 5:22-28, 31: Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by washing with water through the word and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wide, and the two will become one flesh.

Pray for your husband, that he may act as the head of the family, and that he may love you as Christ loved the church. Pray that he makes you holy and blameless by loving you unconditionally and seeing no flaw in you, but only beauty and perfection. Pray that you are able to learn to submit and respect your husband, so that he knows that he is one flesh with you. Pray also that he loves you as he loves himself, wholly and completely, regardless of circumstance.

 

Day 15

That he would learn to not depend non his circumstances for happiness but on God alone. Hebrews 3:17-19

Hebrews 3:17-19: And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest is not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.

Pray for your husband's faith and obedience to God, that he will believe firmly in the Holy Spirit, and that his faith will be strong in the Lord. Pray that he will find all of his actions in compliance with the expectations of God and that all of his intentions are pleasing to our Heavenly Father.

 

Day 16

That he would be a man who enters into spiritual warfare.

Ephesians 6:11-12, 1 Thessalonians 5:8

Ephesians 6:11-12: Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Thessalonians 5:8: But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

Pray for your husband so that he may always be ready for a battle within himself and against the world around him. Pray that his daily attire always includes the armor of God so that he may be a threat to evil and a benefit to righteousness. Ask that he love his brothers and exhibits self control in all circumstances so that the Spirit of God shines through his actions in every situation.

 

Day 17

That he might have new strength in the midst of his busy schedule

and that the Lord might infuse him with His strength.

Isaiah 40:31, Ephesians 3:14-19

Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Ephesians 3:14-19: For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Pray for your husband, that he may find his place on his knees in constant submission to the Lord's Word.  Pray for him so that he may find his strength in Christ and not attempt to base his abilities in the idea of his own strength.  Pray in Jesus' name for the spiritual fulfillment, and that he may find his destiny, trusting in the Lord's guidance and allowing his actions to be led by his faith.  Ask the Lord to show him how to make his heart to be rooted in love and compassion so that he may understand all that is encompassed in the Love of Christ.

 

Day 18

That he might have a burden to see lost people come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Matthew 28:19-20  

Matthew 28:19-20: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 

Pray for your husband that his desires are of God, that he seeks to further God's kingdom in any way possible.   Pray that he is guided by the hand of the Lord so that he may always be a missionary, giving testimony even without words- that all of his actions emit the Spirit of Christ.   Pray that your husband may be blessed to have a hunger to be a fisher of men- that his strongest need is to bring lost people to know Christ as their savior as he does.   Pray for his understanding of Jesus' teachings so that he may have a clear thought to speak in the ear of those who will listen!

 

 

Day 19

That he might be a man responsible for family spiritual growth.

Proverbs 4:1-14

Proverbs 4:1-14: Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

Pray for your husband that he will not turn away from God's laws but rather will always live by Holy doctrines and keep God's commandments so that he is able to live, and not perish!   Pray that he will be a man of family- that he will never forsake you (as his wife) and that he will love you so that you are able to make him a spiritually 'kept' man.   Pray also that he will exalt and embrace you so that you may promote him and make him honorable before the Lord.   Pray for your husband so that he may recognize the grace and glory the Lord bestows upon him as a result of his strong family spirituality!   Pray that he values you as he values his own life, and that he will not be led astray from him solemn promises that he has made in the form of his vows to you.

 

Day 20

That he would be kept from strange women and evil men

and that his friends would be men and women who walk with God.

Proverbs 13:20

Proverbs 13:20: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.  Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.  A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.  Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.  He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.  The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.

Pray for your husband so that he will walk in the path of wisdom and righteousness!  Pray that your husband will place more importance on his relationship with his family and his closeness with his children than making money and providing for them financially.  Pray that your husband will be selfless in his actions and that his reasoning and rationale will be that of a person whom is content regardless of the circumstances he stands in during his life!  Pray for your husband so that he will seek the Lord's guidance in raising his child(ren) so that he may understand how to chastise his child in love, not anger!

 

Day 21

That his self image might be a reflection of the Lords thoughts toward him.

Ephesians 1:17-19, Romans 12:3, Psalms 139

Ephesians 1:17-19: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.

Romans 12:3: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Psalms 139: O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men. For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain. Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Pray for your husband that he may be wise and have revelation in knowledge of God; that he be enlightened with the gift of understanding so that his purpose and calling are apparent to him.  Pray that he may think of himself humbly and soberly, realizing that without God, he is nothing.  May your husband turn to God rather than away, so that he will act out of SPIRIT and not out of FLESH!  Pray that your husband will know that God is omnipotent, and knows him inside and out- and that God is with him in day and in night.  Pray that your husband will seek deliverance and salvation and be lead into a life that will glorify the Lord and make your husband worthy of everlasting, eternal life in God's Kingdom!

 

Day 22

That he might learn to love as God has commanded.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7, Romans 12:8-10, Ephesians 5:25

1 Corinthians 13:4-7: Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Pray for your husband, that he understands that love is kind, patient, and endures the test of time, but is not envious, boastful, or proud.  Pray that he knows love is not rude, self-seeking, or easily angered; and love keeps no records of wrongs.  Pray for your husband so that, like love, he does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth!  Pray that he will always protect and trust you and that he maintains his hopes and perseveres through the difficult times.

 

Romans 12:8-10: Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another

Pray for your husband to be the best of what he is... that he will strive for perfection in every area where God has touched his heart.  Pray that if it is encouraging, let him encourage to the extent of his ability... if it is contributing to others' needs that he give generously... if it is leadership, let him govern diligently... if it is showing mercy that he will do it cheerfully... Pray that his love is sincere and that he detests everything evil and savor all good things.  Pray for him to show love to his brothers and sisters in Christ, including those who are lost, and that he will honor others above the honor he has for himself.

 

Ephesians 5:23-31: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Pray for your husband that he accepts his role as head of the family, and that he may possess knowledge of the expectations of the Lord in reference to his rule over you and that he may have wisdom and discernment in his understanding of your submission to him.  Pray for him to love you as Christ loved the Church... pray that he will sanctify your marriage and keep it clean and holy, being that your union is recognized by God the Father in heaven!  Pray that your husband desires for your marriage to be without flaw or blemish, as he desires for himself... and that he will nourish and cherish you as he does himself.  Pray that your husband understands that he must leave his father and mother and join his flesh with yours so that you two will become one under the Lord.

 

Day 23

That he might not be deceived into unbelief, sin or bitterness.

Matthew 13:8-10

Matthew 13:8-15: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.  Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.  And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.  For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.  Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.  And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Pray for your husband, so that he may hear, see, and comprehend the teachings of Jesus Christ and perceive those teachings for what they are.  Pray that he seeks understanding and enlightenment so that he is never deceived by the serpent to go against what the Lord has commanded of him.  Pray that your husband will never be tricked into sin or bitterness toward the Lord.  Pray that your husband may hear and learn with his heart and soul, rather than with his ear and his mind so that he may be converted and find salvation and that he may be binded back from his brokenness through Jesus' healing power and forgiven through the blood of the lamb!

 

Day 24

That he might grow in humility and being a shepherd.

1 Peter 5:2-6

1 Peter 5:2-7: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Pray for your husband so that he may be a shepherd to the Lord's flock, setting an example with his ways and overseeing their spiritual growth... not because he must, but because he is willing; not to gain wealth, but simple out of his eagerness to serve God; not to exhibit power, but simply to provide an example of the Lord's work to those in need of divine inspiration.   Pray that your husband knows that in doing these things, when the Lord calling upon him to come home, he will receive a crown of glory for the souls he has won, or attempted to win for the Lord's house.   Pray that your husband is willing and able to submit to those who are older and gain from them the wisdom they offer.   Pray that he will live in humility so that he may be lifted up by the Lord and all of his needs cared for!

 

Day 25

That the fruit of the Spirit might be exhibited more and more in his life.

Galatians 5:22-23, John 15:8

Galations 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

 John 15:8: Herein is my Father glorified that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.  

Pray that your husband has a spirit of love, joy, peace, gentleness, longsuffering (perseverance), goodness, faith, meekness (humility, humbleness), and temperance so that he may stand firm in the face of adversity, knowing that there is no force at work against him that may overcome him because of the glory of the Lord!   Pray that your husband may glorify and worship the Lord, teaching  by example and allowing others to see Christ in him simply by the fruit he bears [that people may draw the conclusion from his actions that he is a disciple for Jesus Christ!].

 

Day 26

That he might grow daily in character.

2 Peter 1:5-8

2 Peter 1:5-8: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray for your husband that his character be full of the Body of Christ.   Ask that the Lord touch his heart so that his satisfaction lies in growing spiritually and deepening the understanding of Christ's principles and doctrines.   Pray that he will be a man of faith, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, godliness, brotherly kindness, self-control, perseverance, love, and charity!   Pray for your husband to be a man that is kept in the Word of the Lord.

 

Day 27

That he might keep a clear conscience.1 Peter 3:16-18

1 Peter 3:16-18: Keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.

Pray for your husband that he may live in a way that allows for his conscious to be clear of guilt and shame.   When men speak ill words toward him and slander his name, they  will be ashamed.   Pray that your husband may have the strength and faith to trust in the Lord, understanding that he may suffer doing good, just as he would suffer doing evil... pray for his knowledge of the purpose of his good deeds- that he may not sell his soul doing wrong to get ahead in the world... that he may further the Kingdom of Heaven so that he may get ahead in the Spirit.  Pray for your husband to be brought to God, gracious to the Lord for his sacrifice so that we all may be forgiven... pray that he lives his life showing his thanks to Jesus since he was put to death in the body but made alive in the spirit so that when our bodies die, we are given spiritual life eternally!

 

Day 28

That the Lord might protect him, guarding his course.

Proverbs 2:8

Proverbs 2:8: For he guards the course of the just  and protects the way of his faithful ones.

Pray for your husband, that he may be protected and guided by the Holy Spirit... that his faithful ways have shown him to be just and righteous and that the Lord has placed the blessing of wisdom to shine a light on his path and a blanket of security to ensure his safety in all circumstances!

 

Day 29

That he might learn to manage his time well.

Ephesians 5:15

Ephesians 5:15: Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise.

Pray for your husband to learn to not waste his time on things that are unnecessary or irrelevant to his purpose.   Pray that he may be diligent in choosing the things which he uses to occupy himself so that his life is spent productively working to share Jesus Christ with his brothers and sisters in Spirit!   Pray for him to be blessed with wisdom and discernment in dealing with his daily trials.

 

Day 30

That the Lord would put a song in his heart.

Psalms 33:3, 40:3, Job 35:10

Psalms 33:3, 40:3: Sing to him a new song;  play skillfully, and shout for joy.   He put a new song in my mouth,  a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

Job 35:10: But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night

Pray for your husband that he may have a song of praise and worship in his heart... a hymn of Jesus Christ possessing words that will put the joy and fear and love of God in the hearts of others.   Pray for his desire to share his testimonial song with those to whom the Lord leads him.

 

Day 31

That he may have a holy fear of God.

Psalms 34:11, 111:10, Proverbs 9:10

Psalms 34:11, 111:10: Come, my children, listen to me;  I will teach you the fear of the LORD.   The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Proverbs 9:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Pray for your husband to fear the Lord and use that fear to channel in himself the precepts of God so that he may praise the Lord eternally.   Pray for his wisdom and understanding so that his knowledge of the Holy Spirit is a blessing he receives graciously and humbly.   Pray that through his holy fear of God that he may dedicate himself to sharing God's presence in his life with his brothers and sisters... both those who are lost and those of faith!
